English 174 and I

English 174 was a unique course as it did not only develop my writing and research skills but in also polished my IT skills that I have not been using lately. I believe that the idea of having a blog encourages students to write well and be creative in order to attract readers and make the blog more interesting. The topic we most discussed this semester was global warming. Having a blog were there are many posting on the effects of global warming , documentaries , carbon foot prints , cool cites and nuclear energy would raise the awareness of this issue as theses blogs can be accessed by internet surfers. With the support of English 175 too, the two courses gave me an opportunity to practice writing based on research instead of just writing what I believe and think, I am looking at facts and figures and summarizing them. This is a technique that I lacked and now became more experienced at. I also learned how to reference MLA which was confusing at the beginning. I hope I will use the writing and IT skills I have learnt this course in the future, and I will continue posting topics that interest me even after the course.
